Since Marshall had been busy with work, a stressed Lily singlehandedly planned their housewarming party, and was worried that it was going to be a disaster. Her premonition came true. Over a five minute period during the party, a series of events that took place simultaneously in the living room, dining room and kitchen resulted in what to the untrained eye looked like a confusing mess if knowledge of only what was happening in one of those three rooms was known, but made total sense when viewed from all three rooms combined. Some of the issues and topics of conversation that led to the disaster included Robin's confrontational nature versus Ted's non-confrontational nature, Marshall pondering whether he should refuse boss Garrison Cootes' demand that they return to work in the middle of the party, Mickey's new beekeeping hobby, what happened to a plate of vegan spring rolls, why Lily didn't want anyone to eat the block of Gouda that Marshall served, and Barney's even more than usual adoration of his penis. Carter Bays ve Craig Thomas'ın oluşturdukları How I Met Your Mother ana konu olarak, romantik olan başrol oyuncusu Theodore -Ted- Mosby'nin (Bob Saget) hayatının aşkı -eşiyle- karşılaşma tanışma hikayesini çeşitli flashbacklerle.. How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted and how he fell in love. It all started when Ted's best friend, Marshall, drops the bombshell that he's going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lily, a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he hopes to.. It's approaching Ted's thirty-first birthday, and he's at a desperate time in his professional life. He refuses to take the job as an architecture professor since he sees that as a failure of not being an actual architect. So he takes the only design job offered to him: to design a restaurant, a rib joint, in the shape of a cowboy hat. For three solid days, this job is the focus of his life to the exclusion of all else including celebrating his birthday (much to his friends' chagrin, they who planned a surprise party for him on the rooftop). But Lily's pet goat throws a small wrench into Ted's life. Up on the roof, Marshall is contemplating making the literal six or seven foot horizontal leap to the roof of the adjacent building (where there is an inviting hot tub), missing which would mean falling several stories to the ground. Although he's thought about doing it for years, he seems closer now to doing it than ever. And Barney thinks that he's in love with Robin and plans on telling her so, until Robin pulls a "Mosby" on him. Written by Huggo
Marshall's immediate superior, nicknamed Artillery Arthur, is so named because he often, out of nowhere, will launch into a screaming tirade on an unsuspecting person. He's only one of the reasons that Marshall hates his job. Having never been screamed at like Arthur has just done to him (in this case for not finishing a report by the deadline), Marshall reacts surprisingly. He asks for advice from his friends on how to handle his feelings associated with being screamed at. Barney thinks the only way for the universe to work is for Marshall to complete the chain of screaming: scream at someone else, they who in turn will scream at another person, and so on until someone eventually screams at the original screamer. Marshall instead decides to take Lily's advice and reason with Arthur. Marshall's reasoning doesn't come out quite the way he planned. Meanwhile, Ted buys a new car that he doesn't want anyone to get dirty or to move from its prime parking spot. Barney is told by one of his sexual conquests that she may be pregnant with his baby. When Barney learns that she isn't pregnant, he celebrates by creating what he hopes will be a new national holiday: Not a Father's Day. Ted and Robin try to open Barney's eyes to who are not fathers. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily are contemplating having a baby. When Marshall has to skip a planned baby making session due to a work meeting, Lily begins to wonder if she and Marshall really are ready to be parents. She calls in Robin and Ted for their advice, they who are on opposing sides of the issue. As Robin and Ted debate the general issues of parenthood, Lily, with the assistance of a bottle of wine, goes to Marshall's office invading his meeting to tell him her decision in only the way a drunken wannabe mom can. Written by Huggo Lily moves in with Ted and Marshall and although it was Ted's idea to ask Lily to move in, he starts to worry that the apartment changes too much with Lily there. Another issue for Ted is who will keep the apartment after Lily and Marshall got married. In the end, a real fight starts between Ted and Marshall over the apartment. Written by Sa In the aftermath of Robin and Barney's break-up, Robin isn't yet ready to date again, although her new co-anchor Don seems attracted to her and he seems to be a great guy, especially from Marshall's perspective. So when Don calls to ask Robin for a date, she is about to say no until someone intervenes on her behalf. Conversely, Barney has been back to his womanizing ways. However, the latest woman he meets named Anita has been a conundrum as she appears to want to sleep with him, but at the last minute she turns down his sexual advances. Telling the gang this story, Ted realizes that Anita is using a tactic in a new guidebook for single women in how to empower themselves on the dating scene. When Barney finds out that Anita is not only using the strategies in the book but is the book's author, Barney, on Ted's advice, comes up with a plan to circumvent Anita's strategy. Later, the gang minus Barney learn that Barney meeting Anita was not by accident, and learn the reason for the not so accidental meeting. Written by Huggo

Ted is relaying to his children the story of how he moved on to the next woman after Stella left him right before the wedding. Her name was Vicky, a woman he saw every day in the elevator. After a week of furtive glances, he asked her out to which she accepted. Based on a ploy by Robin's latest date to sleep with her (the ploy called "the naked man"), the gang discuss the effectiveness of the ploy and the role of sex in their respective lives. Specifically between Marshall and Lily, they debate if love is the only reason to sleep with another person. Robin needs to defend her decision to sleep with Mitch, the naked man guy, with whom she may not have ever seen again after that date. And Barney urges Ted to employ the naked man technique on Vicky, despite Ted believing that he may have a future with her. Written by Huggo
How I Met Your Mother Lily is still trying to find her passion in life after returning from San Francisco. In order to do that, she will have to work somewhere - anywhere - to finance it. After a failed waitressing job, Ted offers her a job as an office assistant with his company. When she arrives at the office, she meets the head architect, Hammond Druthers, who she considers an inconsiderate blowhard who treats Ted like a child, and who is not a very good architect to boot. Lily uses a technique from her kindergarten class to try and make Druthers a nicer person to work with. Meanwhile, Marshall is having a difficult time with one of his professors. She, he's guessing in her forties or fifties, just got divorced over the summer and is taking it out on the students. After learning that she is attractive, Barney makes it his mission to trap a cougar so that the cougar won't attack her students anymore. Written by Huggo Marshall is appearing before the state judiciary committee, the outcome of the hearing which could well determine if he remains a lawyer. It all started with his latest and most important case to date, where the outcome would determine his future at Honeywell & Cootes. The defense lawyer in the case ended up being his once friend and law school colleague Brad, who duped Marshall by believing he was in hard times, which resulted in Marshall getting Brad an interview at Honeywell & Cootes. Alone in the firm's offices, Brad then proceeded to steal Marshall's prosecuting strategy. Brad ended up having more than Marshall's strategy on his side as the case went to trial. Meanwhile, Barney, Robin, Ted and Lily each claim that they were the most bad ass between the four when each was a teenager. And after Robin and Barney's passionate kiss, they, unspoken, have both decided to treat the incident like it never happened. Written by Huggo For the first time in quite some time, Ted is living by himself, and he begins to relish the fact that his apartment is his castle where he can do as he pleases without having to answer to anyone but himself. Ted's peace is shattered by Barney, who, despite feeling that he is in love with Quinn and enjoying telling everyone that he is dating a stripper, wants to hang out with Ted in bro mode every night to make each - wait for it - legendary. Meanwhile, Lily has had another of her sex dreams which did not involve Marshall. Marshall doesn't mind Lily having these dreams as she always tells him about them afterward. But this time, Lily won't tell him about it. Marshall surmises that it's because she dreamed about one of their friends. He'll know who it is when Lily blushes in front of that person the bright vermilion color she blushed when she first uncomfortably tried to skirt Marshall's questioning to her about the dream. And Robin is lamenting the fact that despite being an on-air personality for a national news program, she still isn't famous. Her first eye in the sky traffic report might change that status, but not in the way she would have thought or wanted. Written by Huggo
Critics Consensus: How I Met Your Mother begins with a distinctively likable ensemble, intriguing storytelling hook, and an endearingly sweet sensibility right out of the gate -- but the jokes elicit more smiles than laughs and the series' sentimentality may divide more hearts than it conquers How I Met Your Mother 5 Temporada. Episódio 01: DUBLADO Episódio 01: LEGENDADO Ted and Robin's new stint as just being roommates isn't going very well. They're constantly fighting, something they didn't do while they were dating and almost seemingly like roommates. They come to the conclusion that it was because they were sleeping with each other when they were dating. So they decide to be just roommates but have sex to circumvent the fights whenever they are about to have a fight. There is no emotional involvement, just sex. It seems to be working. Although they decide not to tell anyone of their roommates with benefits status, the rest of the gang find out. Lily believes that nothing good can come of their arrangement, as someone always gets hurt in the end. Although Lily can see it, the one who seems to be getting hurt by their arrangement is Barney, who still has unresolved feelings for Robin. Meanwhile, Marshall feels totally uncomfortable "reading a magazine" at work, and will do his "magazine reading" anywhere but the office, even once renting a motel room to do so. Can he always get away with his "magazine reading" away from the office when he's at the office? Written by Huggo
In the continuing story Ted is telling his children in 2030 of how he met their mother, he flips the story to tell them of what their mother was doing while Ted was hanging out with Marshall, Lily, Robin and Barney over those same years. This story starts on the very same day he started his own story, the day that Marshall and Lily got engaged, and the day he met Robin. This day was their mother's twenty-first birthday, the day her then boyfriend Max, who was the love of her life and the one and only person she thought she would ever love, died. His death affected how she approached her dating life over much of the intervening time. Ted also tells them of the many close calls the two of them had in meeting, including when she, as an economics student who wanted to end world poverty, was in the classroom he thought was his classroom for his very first day as an architecture professor, and how she became roommates with Cindy, a woman who he ended up dating. The story also tells of how she ended up in Farhampton at the same time as Robin and Barney's wedding and how she ended up in the room next to his at the inn, when he first heard her voice, a situation that would be a memorable one for him for the rest of his life. Written by Huggo Rather than go to McLaren's, their usual hangout, Barney convinces Ted to go to the airport with him to "pick someone up". It turns out that they're there to pick up some girls. While doing this, they fly to Philadelphia, get arrested by airport security and that's when Ted starts to wonder why he ends up in these adventures with Barney. Meanwhile Marshall has studying to do, so Lily and Robin do a girls night out and Lily notices guys are buying drinks and try talking to Robin, so Lily starts to wonder what it would be like to have her engagement ring off, and with Marshall's "blessing", she takes it off. In the end, Lily realizes that things aren't all that great with the ring off and Ted understands why he goes on these adventures/misadventures with Barney. Written by goleafs84
Ted has just started dating a woman named Cathy, who he really, really likes. But at the first dinner she has with the gang, it is obvious to Ted that none of the others like her. They refuse to tell him why, he needing to figure out himself her obvious flaw. The reason he may not be able to see her flaw is that he is still trying to sleep with her, that fact which places blind spots in people's perception. When Ted finally finds out the reason, he can't understand why he couldn't see it in the first place and why it didn't bother him before. But in knowing Cathy's flaw, the gang come to the realization that these blinders can also apply to friends. Meanwhile, the results of the bar exam have just been released. But Marshall can't access his exam results online since he lost his password. Can Marshall wait the probable six weeks until the results arrive in the snail mail? Barney thinks he has a way to find out... if Marshall is willing to do something extremely illegal. Marshall's annoying habit may prove to be the answer. Written by Huggo Ted sees a beautiful woman sitting alone at the bar reading a book. He and Barney argue on who gets the privilege of approaching her. After Ted wins the battle, he may change his mind as he soon finds out that she is a friend of an old girlfriend, Cindy, with who their relationship ended very badly. But Ted also remembers that Cindy's roommate - who Ted only saw the back of - could actually be Ted's soul mate. Will Ted risk approaching this woman while receiving the wrath of Cindy on the chance that that woman is Cindy's roommate? Meanwhile, Robin has had a difficult summer trying to get over Don, and the way she looks shows it. And Lily and Marshall have scheduled tonight as the first night they will try to conceive a child. Marshall has even saved himself for two weeks in preparation. But someone may get between Marshall and Lily getting together this evening: Marvin Sr., who is a little too involved in Marshall's life for Lily's liking. Written by Huggo . The series follows the main character, Ted Mosby, and his group of friends in Manhattan. As a framing device, Ted, in the year 2030, recounts to his son and daughter the events that led to his meeting their mother.
Lily is angry at Marshall for purposely booking the room at the inn that is purportedly haunted. Not that Lily is afraid of ghosts - or so she says - but that the inn management is using the excuse of the haunting as justification for the shoddy state of the room. This issue is the least of Marshall's worries as he learns that Daphne texted Lily with news that he accepted a job as a judge in New York, even after they decided to move to Italy. He asks all his friends individually to delete the last text on Lily's phone, "no questions asked", such a request which each owes him. As such, each may be working at cross purposes to the other in getting the task done. Meanwhile, Robin and Barney both realize that they still do things without consulting the other, which they can't continue to do if their marriage is to work. Now that Marshall and Lily are back together, they have to decide if that means that an imminent wedding is also part of their future. After some convincing by Marshall for Lily to woo him the right way, they do decide to get married. A perceived problem is that most of Marshall's family now hate Lily for walking out on him in the first place. To avoid the wrath of the Eriksen's at a wedding ceremony, Marshall and Lily decide to go to Atlantic City to elope, with only their three closest friends by their side. Although some do have some work issues to get around, all three of Ted, Robin and Barney head off to Atlantic City for the event. But once there, Marshall and Lily run into an obstacle that it takes three days to get a marriage license in New Jersey. Lily in particular does whatever she has to to make sure they get married on this day. Meanwhile, the guys seem more preoccupied with being tourists in Atlantic City than they are with the wedding. Ted is preoccupied with Robin's less than formal wedding attire. And Barney is preoccupied with some mysterious Chinese who seem to know him really well. Written by Huggo In part to preempt her sister Nora from stealing her perfect wedding, Stella convinces Ted to move their wedding up to that weekend on Shelter Island. Beyond Shelter Island not being quite the place that Marshall, Lily or Barney want to be, the wedding faces some immediate issues when Stella learns that Ted has telephoned Robin in Japan to invite her to the wedding, the invitation which she accepted. This move violates Stella's no-ex's at weddings policy as she fears that Ted seeing his ex will bring up old, unresolved feelings. The only thing that could be worse for Stella is if Lucy's father, Tony, was at the wedding. Ted is torn as he really would like Robin, one of his best friends, there. Lily thinks that she has a plan to get Stella to allow Robin to attend, but that plan has some unexpected consequences. When Robin arrives, she has her own admission for Ted. Written by Huggo

This Is Us co-executive.. How I Met Your Mother. Ted has fallen in love. It all started when his best friend, Marshall, drops the bombshell that he plans to propose to longtime girlfriend Lily, a kindergarten teacher. Suddenly, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he hopes to find true love. Helping him in the quest is.. Doug Martin, the bartender at MacLaren's, is a brutishly large, toupee wearing man. He is also slightly dimwitted and angry but who is fiercely loyal to his regulars. That fierce loyalty leads to Doug challenging a group of bar patrons to a back alley fight on Lily, Robin, Ted, Marshall and Barney's behalf, but with the implication that Ted, Barney and Marshall join him in the brawl. After thinking about it, Ted, who has never been in a bona fide fist fight, believes a fight is something he needs to do once in his life and agrees to join Doug. Barney also goes to fight once he finds out that Robin, the hockey fan, is into brawlers. Marshall, on the other hand, won't fight, stating that he's been in many a fight before with his brothers and doesn't need to prove anything. When Ted and Barney come back from the fight with black eyes but are still standing while their opponents are out cold, they are seen as heroes by the other bar patrons, except for Marshall. Ted and Barney, basking in their new glory and with Doug vowing to provide them free drinks for life, have to make a confession about the fight when it has an unexpected consequence. Marshall also makes an unintended confession of his own about the history of his fights with his brothers. Written by Huggo In their first date three days after Robin and Barney's wedding, Ted and who would eventually become his wife are looking for a place to eat. In her thinking that they can just walk in anywhere and get a table, Ted relays a story from the wedding of Gary Blauman, whose reply card must have been lost in the mail as he showed up unexpectedly. His arrival put Robin in a quandary in trying to figure out where to put him for dinner. Marshall volunteered to do this task for Robin. When Marshall brings up the story as he is figuring on where to put Gary, one by one, people tell him of their feelings about Gary, and why they either really want or don't want him to be accommodated at the wedding. As Ted tells his kids this story in 2030, it becomes one with a moral about friendship and those who come and don't stay in your life. Written by Huggo
Ted freaks out when Stella invites him to a wedding six months away, which is twice as long as they have been dating. Believing they are moving at two different speeds in their relationship, Ted breaks up with her. But after Ted has a potentially near fatal accident, he comes to the realization that he loves Stella and that he wants her back. A misunderstanding between Ted and Stella about the break-up may jeopardize them getting back together again. The accident also brings into clearer light the status of Ted and Barney's currently estranged friendship. Meanwhile, Marshall and Robin argue about what constitutes a miracle. Written by Huggo A nervous Ted receives an unexpected telephone message from The Captain, his old girlfriend Zoey's wealthy ex-husband. Ted believes The Captain called to exact his revenge against him, thus he tries to avoid The Captain's follow-up call. Ted, Robin and Lily reminisce about the last time they saw The Captain a year and a half ago at an art gallery, but each remembers the evening slightly differently. As they piece together their three stories, in there may lie the real reason The Captain got back in touch with Ted, and why that evening affected one of the three so deeply. Meanwhile, Barney, who was not there that evening, tries to infiltrate himself into Ted, Robin and Lily's individual stories, while Marshall wants Ted to reconnect with The Captain on the minute possibility that Marshall will get to sail on The Captain's boat. Written by Huggo Ted is searching for a date for a wedding. He asks Robin to come with him to the wedding as his "date" and she says yes. Problems evolve when the bride-to-be Claudia tells him he didn't check "plus one" on the reply card and forbids him to bring someone along to the wedding. Ted now has problems to tell Robin that she cannot come with him and asks the Stu, Claudia's future husband, if he can bring a "date" and he says "yes". This leads to further problems. Written by 123 Marshall and Lily are doing many of their post-wedding tasks, such as writing thank you notes and preparing their individual "death folder", which is a package of information for the other in case of their untimely death. Lily implies that the folder should contain a personal letter, of which Marshall was not aware. He quickly writes a heartfelt letter to the love of his life. Unable to resist the urge, he opens Lily's letter which isn't quite what he was expecting. Robin, who had a good time in Argentina, can't seem to capture that joie de vivre she had while in Argentina, even though Gael is still doing those things he did in Argentina which made her so carefree. A move by Gael may show Robin if she really is cut out to be the "Argentina Robin". And impressed by how Gael attracts the women, Barney and Ted decide to take on that attribute they believe is attracting the women: being a foreigner who can only have a short term fling before heading home. Written by Huggo . While packing their mother's house, James and Barney see an unsent letter to Sam Gibbs, which leads to their discovery that Sam Gibbs was the father of James. Loretta offers the identity of Barney's father on a sheet of paper, but Barney tears this up after realizing Loretta's efforts as a single mother.
James continually badmouthing the institution of marriage leads to a showdown between him and Robin in the form of their respective wedding rings, that showdown which Robin wins. This confrontation leads to Loretta coming to her black son's defense against Robin. As such, Barney is forced to choose between his family and his soon to be wife. Lily learns that Ted is getting Barney and Robin multiple wedding gifts. This act is the last straw in what has been a slow burn for Lily and Marshall since their wedding as Ted never got them a wedding present, despite Marshall having dropped continual hints over the years. But when they eventually confront Ted, Ted flips it around on them, stating that he did get them a wedding gift. They never sent him a thank you note, about which he continually dropped hints to Marshall over the years. They will have to get to the bottom of whether Ted really did get them a wedding present or if he really forgot to. Written by Huggo 16. How Your Mother Met Me. Having dropped Daphne and the Hummer off, Marshall and Marvin are now on a bus to the Farhampton Inn. Marvin, however, is cranky, so Marshall does the only thing that will get him to sleep - something that Lily discovered worked recently - which is to read him poems in rhyme. But Marshall left Marvin's rhyming book in the Hummer, leaving Marshall to come up with rhyming stories of his own, with the help and often exasperation of his fellow passengers. As one rhyme works, something happens on the bus to awaken Marvin again crying. The stories that Marshall tells Marvin, however inappropriate, are: "Mosby at the Bat", where Ted tries to figure out if a dinner he is having with a Physics professor named Lisa is a business dinner or a date; "Robin Takes the Cake", where Robin steals and eats a wedding cake and the reason why; and "Barney Stinson: Player King of New York City", where Barney, while contemplating hitting on a woman in the bar, explains why, against Lily's assertions to the contrary, that he will indeed be able to pick her up. Written by Huggo When Ted and Barney jeopardize Robin's new relationship by professing their love for her, Robin realizes that she is finally over them. Meanwhile, after spending a weekend sleeping in twin beds, Marshall and Lily decide to get twin beds at home. Written by CBS Publicity Marshall and Lily attempt to get used to being parents, which causes a brief estrangement from the gang as Baby Marvin takes up the majority of their time. Lily's father Mickey becomes Marvin's nanny, freeing the two up to spend more time with their friends. The Captain, ex-husband of Ted's old girlfriend Zoey, offers Lily a job as an art consultant after she identifies a painting that made a huge profit for him. Lily accepts, happy to finally achieve her dream of having a job in the art industry, while Marshall decides to apply to become a judge. The Captain offers Lily a year's work in Rome, which she accepts with Marshall's blessing. However, just before Barney and Robin's wedding, Marshall is informed that his application to become a judge has been granted, a development that would require them to stay in the US. Just before the wedding, Robin is wondering whether she is making a mistake in marrying Barney. She feels that her husband should have come through for her in finding her locket. Ted, who does have her locket, has to decide what to do with it and what to tell her about it. Meanwhile, Barney is having problems writing his wedding vows. Marshall and Lily believe they are the wedding vow experts. However, Barney points out how they have not kept any of their wedding vows. Barney's point makes Marshall and Lily critically examine what they said to each other seven years ago. In turn, their review of their vows help Barney come up with his. Written by Huggo With Mickey away, Marshall and Lily are happy that Ted, who is between jobs now that the GNB building is completed, can sit with baby Marvin. They regret their decision to let Ted take this job as he goes a little overboard, depriving Marshall but especially Lily the joys of being Marvin's parents. Meanwhile, Lily has noticed that Robin is acting like a giddy schoolgirl whenever she's around Barney. Confronting Robin about the issue, Lily figures out it's because now that she has broken it off with Barney, Robin wants what she can't have. Robin knows what she has to do to get Barney out of her system, and has to figure out a way to achieve her goal. In her quest, Robin doesn't notice that Barney is on a quest of his own, all starting from a seemingly innocent incident of spilling ketchup on one of his favorite ties. Written by Huggo
Ted visits Robin on the day of her wedding to Barney, causing him to remember how he and Victoria ran away from her wedding to be together. The summer is spent with Ted, Barney, and Robin enjoying their current relationships; however, all subsequently break up with their partners. The breakups with all four couples happen in this season; future Ted (Bob Saget) refers to this period as the ‘autumn of breakups’. Victoria splits up with Ted over his friendship with Robin, Barney and Quinn break up due to their inability to trust each other, and Robin breaks up with Nick realizing his immaturity. Robin and Barney kiss but decide not to get together, despite Barney's wishes. Barney then begins dating Robin's hated co-worker Patrice (Ellen D. Williams), a relationship later exposed as a ruse to make Robin realize her true feelings for him. In a culminating scene Barney proposes to Robin, who says yes. Marshall and Lily are having problems at their wedding reception. Whether they want to or not, they become so caught up in their roles as the center of attention of the event, that they have no opportunity to eat. Since they chose the meal, they are even more perturbed that they don't seem to be able to enjoy any of the food. As the reception progresses, the want to taste the food changes to the need to eat or else die of hunger. Meanwhile, Barney overhears Ted and Robin say that they have something important happening in their lives that they haven't wanted to talk about until after the wedding as not to overshadow the event. As Barney won't let it go, Ted and Robin are forced to tell him. The story relates to their one year anniversary dinner two weeks earlier, the day when they rushed into the apartment with their clothes covered with food. As Ted and Robin progress with the story, which has something to do with them being at a crossroads in their relationship, Barney comes to several conclusions before Ted and Robin state the conclusion themselves. Written by Huggo Ted dates a graduate student named Cindy (Rachel Bilson) and it is revealed that her roommate is his future wife. Robin meets Don, her new co-anchor on her 4 am TV show. Though she initially dislikes him, the two start dating and eventually she moves in with him. At the end of the season they break up when Don takes a job in Chicago -- a job which Robin had previously turned down to stay in New York with Don. Marshall uses his fourth slap on Barney, once again at Thanksgiving. Ted buys a house, which needs to be fixed up badly, but is later revealed to be the future home for Ted and his kids. Ted is telling his children about a series of seemingly unrelated events that took place in 2009 all at around the same time: Robin getting food poisoning and vomiting on air; Barney miscalculating that a Czech super model will be his two hundredth sex partner; and Marshall overusing poster sized charts he has made up by the graphics department at GNB. Why is he telling them these stories in combination? Because they all led to him standing on a certain street corner at a certain time which resulted in him meeting their mother. As Ted is standing on that corner at that time, he is tapped on the shoulder by... Written by Huggo The season opens once again in a flash forward to Barney and Robin's wedding day as Ted reminisces about how he and Victoria run away from her wedding in 2012 while Lily and Marshall struggle with their new-born son, Marvin. Robin struggles with Barney's engagement to Quinn, which soon falls apart when Barney draws up an unrealistic prenuptial agreement which causes the two to realize just how little they trust each other. Robin gets a new boyfriend, a celebrity chef, and Ted continues dating Victoria after she flees her wedding. Unfortunately, both relationships fail during what the group term "The Autumn Of Break-Ups".
Barney has found a DVD of Robin's Canadian television show, "Space Teens", which featured "Robin Sparkles" and Robin's BFF on and off the show, Jessica Glitter. Robin considers it a children's educational show about two teen-aged girls solving crimes in space using math. As the others watch the show, they feel that it more closely resembles porn wannabe. Despite stating that she and Jessica were BFF's, Robin hasn't been friends with Jessica for about five years. Ted deduces that Robin's friendship ended when Jessica had a child, which makes Lily believe the same thing will happen to her when she and Marshall have a baby. Since Robin won't talk about it, the only other person who could tell the gang the full story is Jessica Glitter herself. Meanwhile, Ted wants to prove that unlike Robin and Jessica, he and his old friend Punchy truly are BFFs. But when Punchy unexpectedly takes Ted up on an offhanded offer, Ted's assertion is tested. Written by Huggo In the season opening, Ted sees Cindy again with a girl who he thinks to be her roommate, but she turns out to be Cindy's girlfriend whom she later marries. After prodding by Barney, Ted is eventually hired by GNB once more as the architect of the bank's new headquarters, which was originally scrapped in Season 4. However, he encounters opposition when he meets Zoey Pierson (Jennifer Morrison), a woman who is protesting against GNB for selecting a decrepit hotel, the Arcadian, to be torn down for the headquarters. Over the season, Ted's encounters with Zoey eventually blossom into a relationship after she divorces her rich husband, the Captain (Kyle MacLachlan), but they break up as he puts his career and friends over love, leading to the Arcadian's demolition. Ted also resolves not to get back with Zoey.

One day when Ted, Barney and Marshall are hanging out at the coffee house instead of the bar, they notice that the beautiful female barista seems to be into Marshall. With Marshall now being single, Ted and Barney encourage him to go after her. Chloe, as she is named, is indeed interested in him. But later when Marshall and Chloe run into Ted and Barney, Ted and Barney encourage Marshall to not date her. The reason?: she has "crazy eyes", which is indicative of a crazy personality. But Marshall doesn't heed their warning and goes out on a date with her. On their date, it's not Chloe that ends up coming off as crazy. Meanwhile, the gang are now calling Barney by a new name, a name that was written on his cup at the coffee house: Swarley. Ted and Barney will be going with her, but not Marshall and Lily, as they have been doing a lot of "Classy grown-up things", as she referred it to and thinks it may be time for she and Marshall to grow up and put behind the things they used to do back in college. While at the club, Robin runs into problems as she cannot get into the VIP Room, then while outside trying to get it straightened out,a different front door bouncer will not let her in, even though she is on their list to get in, but her name is crossed off and shown she is already in. Meanwhile, Ted realizes that he is not crazy for nightclubs. Marshall and Lily wonder if doing all those "Classy gown up things" are all that great and Barney ends up getting into a very embarrassing situation that is so bad, he tells Ted what happened and that "this night did NOT happen" (in italics). Written by goleafs84 The series begins in September 2005 with Ted (Josh Radnor) as a single, 27-year-old architect living with his two best friends from his college years: Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), a law student, and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher and an aspiring artist. Lily and Marshall have been dating for almost nine years when Marshall finally proposes. Their engagement causes Ted to think about marriage and finding his soul mate, much to the disgust of his self-appointed best friend Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), whom he met in the restroom at a bar four years earlier. Barney is a serial womanizer who concocts elaborate con games, usually involving costumes and fake identities, designed to bed women, only to lose interest in them immediately afterward. Ted, Robin and Barney accompany Marshall and Lily to St. Cloud, Minnesota to support them at Marshall's father's funeral. At funerals, Robin always plays the role of "vice girl". Ted and Barney come to a decision that the best way they can help Marshall is to make him laugh during the day. And Lily vows to help Judy through the day despite the two never having been that close. The day gets off to a shaky start when their regular priest, Father Platt, can't perform the service, leaving that task to his son, Reverend Trey Platt, who, during their growing up period, was Marshall's nemesis, despite a physical disparity between the two. In preparing for the service, Marshall is asked about the last words his father ever spoke to him. As Marshall remembers back to the last day he saw his father, all he can remember are meaningless words uttered instead of something profound. Marshall then realizes that he has yet to listen to his father's last words to him. He's not sure he can as he explains why he needs those last words to be something important. Written by Huggo It's approaching Valentine's Day 2011, and romance is not looking good for most of the gang. Robin and Barney have a laser tag date as friends on the actual day. Robin, single and proud of it, is spending the day before Valentine's Day with some single girlfriends in protest of the Hallmark day. Barney has renamed the 13th Desperation Day for all the single, desperate women who feel the need to hook-up with anyone by the end of the day so as not to be alone on the 14th. In his protest against this desperation, he vows to be home by midnight alone so that he say he doesn't have a date on Valentine's. Even Lily and Marshall are going to be apart on Valentine's as Marshall is still in Minnesota helping his mother after the passing of his father. Lily decides she needs to be with Marshall so makes an impromptu trip to Minnesota to be with her husband. What Lily sees at the Eriksen household is not quite what she expects. And Ted and Zoey have decided to take their relationship at a glacier's pace to give Zoey time to get over being divorced. But when their relationship goes from zero to sixty at the flick of a switch (really, at the sight of an overnight bag), Ted needs to decide at what speed he wants to go with Zoey if at all. Written by Huggo Marshall and Lily's entire world for the past five months has been Marvin to the exclusion of all else, including their friends. Now that Mickey has taken some of the child rearing off their plate, a constantly tearful Lily and Marshall now worry about what their mortality means for little Marvin's welfare if they were to depart the world sooner than later. As they complete their will, they run into the obstacle of who they will name as Marvin's guardian. As they exhaust the list of all their living blood relatives, dismissing each for one reason or another, their thoughts turn to their three best friends, who all actively campaign for the position. That campaigning irks Marshall and Lily, who decide to choose between the three using one of Marshall's passions in life. The question becomes how much of the unusual scrutiny Barney, Robin and Ted will endure for the opportunity to be Marvin's godparent and potential guardian. Written by Huggo
Robin Scherbatsky Sr. is in town. He and Barney, the son he never had, bond doing one of Barney's favorite activities, laser tag. But not all is harmonious between the father/son duo. Their bonding time leaves Robin Jr. to carry out an important task, namely finding the locket she buried near the Central Park carousel when she was a teenager, that locket which was always intended to be her "something old" at her wedding. Having trouble trying to find it, she also has trouble getting anyone to help her, which is important as that locket has more meaning to her than just the traditional symbolic wedding item. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily are having trouble trying to decide what to take with them to Italy and what to throw away, so they call in the packing expert, Ted, who is so renowned for traveling through Spain for two weeks with everything he needed in only a "hand's free belt satchel" (i.e. fanny pack). But Ted's expertise takes a back seat for another criterion which dictates what should stay and what should go. Written by Huggo While reminiscing about Hurricane Irene, it is revealed that Lily and Marshall had conceived their baby in Barney's apartment, and Barney and Robin end up sleeping together. Barney and Robin both realize what they've done and decide to break up with their partners. However, Robin decides to stay with Kevin, which devastates Barney, who did break up with Nora. Marshall and Lily decide they want to move to Long Island, after Lily's paternal grandparents offer them their house there. Marshall and Lily and Robin and Kevin having been double dating. Robin and Kevin have had to endure watching Marshall and Lily fight all the time, while they say that they don't fight. Regardless, Kevin decides that he wants to move to the next step with Robin: he asks her to marry him. After thinking about the proposal, Robin thinks she knows how she will answer, but first she needs to clear the air which may change the picture entirely. Meanwhile, despite Barney having a sure thing, he acts as wing man for Ted. Quinn, the wing girl of Ted's prey for the evening, ends up being wise to Barney's manipulative ways. For missing out on his sure thing, Barney believes that Ted owes him one. What Barney wants as his payment, after hearing about it from Marshall and Lily, is for him and Ted to take the "drunk train" i.e. the last train out to Long Island where everyone inebriated is willing to go to bed with anyone else on board. The drunk train experience doesn't end up being what either expects, so they have to figure out why. Written by Huggo The five friends are having dinner at Shinjitsu, a Japanese teppanyaki. It's Marshall's favorite restaurant, while Barney hates it there. Two topics of conversation emerge for the evening. The first is if Barney can perform a prescribed series of teppanyaki chef moves, which ends up being a bet between Barney and Marshall/Lily. If Barney wins the bet, he can touch Lily's now emerged ample pregnancy breasts. If Barney loses the bet, he has to wear Marshall's rubber ducky emblazoned tie for one year, the tie which he thinks is hideous. After they make the bet, Marshall and Lily have to figure out if Barney is hustling them - as it begins to look like Barney maneuvered their way to the restaurant without initially looking like he did - since Barney winning the bet could perhaps be their worst nightmare. The second is Ted's recent encounter with ex-girlfriend Victoria, who was the dessert caterer at the architect's ball. Their meeting ignited old feelings between the two, some good and some not so good. In the latter category is the fact that Ted officially cheated on her with Robin. During their meeting, Victoria made a few admissions of her own which may dictate if there is a future for the two of them. Written by Huggo Robin invites everybody to a banquet and Ted is insecure about bringing a date or not. Barney offers to hook him up with a prostitute while Robin brings a real date. Ted pretends to be cool with the fact that Robin has moved on, but Robin's date is her sleazy colleague Sandy Rivers whom Ted and Marshall constantly make jokes about when watching him on TV. With all these people in the same room, the evening seems to be getting interesting. Written by Anonymous
How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted and how he fell in love. It all starts when Ted's best friend, Marshall drops the bombshell that he's going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lilya kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he too hopes to.. On January 1, 2012, Marshall heads back to St. Cloud, Minnesota to spend the day alone with his father to keep on with a tradition between the two: hold a tailgate party while watching the Vikings/Bears game. Marshall resists any change to what he sees as that tradition, which may not be easy due to the activity happening around him. Regardless, Marshall has come to tell his father of the exploits of his and Lily's and their friends' New Year's Eve celebrations. Marshall and Lily discussed whether or not they should tell Lily's father about her pregnancy. Lily had up to this point resisted the idea of telling him if only not wanting to be disappointed by him yet again. Kevin tried to convince Robin that she should try and get a job working in front of the camera once again. Their New Year's Eve celebration alone together took an unexpected turn when Robin got a telephone call from an inebriated on-air Sandy Rivers, who needed her help with his New Year's Eve live national broadcast. Robin's help extended a little further than she expected. And Ted and Barney had troubles trying to get into crowded MacLaren's due to bouncer Doug's strict entrance policy. As such, Ted and Barney, with help from a then dateless for the evening Kevin, decided to open Puzzles, their own bar in Ted and Robin's apartment. Ted tells his children that he met their mother through a story with her yellow umbrella. He finds the umbrella at a club and takes it home after attending a St. Patrick's Day party where his future wife was, although they did not meet. Ted attempts to woo Stella (Sarah Chalke), a dermatologist he sees to remove an embarrassing tattoo. This culminates in a memorable "two-minute date," which incorporates small talk, dinner, a movie, coffee, two cab rides, and a goodnight kiss, all within two minutes. Robin sleeps with Barney after he comforts her following a break-up, which is followed by Ted's disapproval and decision to stop being friends with Barney. Meanwhile, an unknown woman begins to sabotage Barney's attempts to hook up. His saboteur is revealed to be Abby (Britney Spears), Stella's receptionist, with a vendetta against him for not calling her after they had sex. It's Friday of the wedding weekend. Barney and Robin impress on Ted that tonight is the most important night of the weekend for him to meet a woman if he has any chance to hook up with someone for the entire weekend, but he has make decisions wisely or else. To help, Barney and Robin have chosen who they consider the three most suitable candidates: Sophia, Robin's college roommate who makes unusual sex noises; big boobed Cassie, the daughter of Mrs. Stinson's friend; and Grace, Barney's new co-worker. Although Barney and Robin think Sophia would be the best choice, Ted instead chooses Cassie for more obvious reasons. But did Ted make a wise choice? Meanwhile, Lily has just met the wedding minister, Reverend Robert Lowell, upon who Lily seems to make a bad impression. Lily's bad impression may in turn affect the ability of Barney and Robin being able to hold their wedding in his church. One of the series' traditions involved giving guest roles to actors from various Joss Whedon productions, many of whom co-starred with Hannigan on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Bays attributed this to their being "huge fans" and to those casts representing "a big talent pool". Ted and Victoria had decided to wait for one month before sleeping together, but Victoria forgets that she'll be out of town on that day. Meanwhile Marshall and Lily celebrate their nine year anniversary, and Barney and Robin have a bros night out. Written by Westerleb After Barney is banned for life from the local laser tag club for his rough play, Ted adds it to what he calls his "Murtaugh" list, named after the Danny Glover character in Lethal Weapon (1987), he who said "I'm too old for this $#*!". Barney ends up seeing Ted's Murtaugh list as a challenge and bets Ted that he can do everything on the list in twenty-four hours. Conversely, Ted tells Robin that he is looking forward to growing old. So Robin and Barney come up with an alternate list of "old folks" things for Ted to do, Ted who double bets Barney that he can complete the items on that list before Barney finishes the Murtaugh list. Meanwhile, after Lily asks him, Marshall agrees to coach Lily's kindergarten class' basketball team. Lily sees it as potential dad training for Marshall. But Lily may change her mind when she sees that Marshall is a dictatorial taskmaster as a coach, as opposed to the touchy-feely coach she wanted. Ted is desperate to bring a "+1" to Robin and Barney's wedding, and currently has Jeanette as that +1 despite he realizing that she is crazy. Robin and Barney are so adamant that Jeanette not be Ted's +1 that Barney swears Ted to secrecy in how he is helping Ted find an alternate +1: by staging plays from his playbook, which he purportedly burned in front of Robin but in reality burned a fake book instead. If Robin finds out about the playbook, there may be no reason for Ted to have a +1 as there will be nothing for him to bring a +1 to. Meanwhile, Lily, as The Captain's new art buyer, is attending a gallery showing by an up and coming artist named Strickland Stevens. Marshall is confident that he can play the art buyer husband at functions so important to Lily's career which may not be the most obvious fit for Marshall. This gallery showing may test Marshall's actual ability in this role. Written by Huggo Ted, Marshall and Lily are happy for Barney now that he has started dating Robin's co-worker, Patrice. Despite Patrice not being an obvious match for Barney as she is the most caring person in the world, they believe his attraction to her is an over-correction from previously dating Quinn, who he did not trust. The one person not happy for Barney is Robin, who, despite stating that she is no longer in love with Barney herself, doesn't understand Barney and Patrice's pairing. Robin believes that if she can get a hold of Barney's playbook and show it to Patrice, Patrice in turn will dump Barney for seeing who he really is. Meanwhile, Marshall's mother is coming for a visit. Lily doesn't want Judy to stay with them, until they bond over a confession that Judy makes to Lily that Lily would like to help her with and that Judy doesn't want Marshall to know about yet: that she is ready to move on after Marvin's death and start dating. A further action by Judy may make Lily change her mind about Judy's confession. Both Robin's task and the situation at the Eriksen household place Ted in the middle, he who only wants to recover the many items that his friends have borrowed from him over the years but have never knowingly returned. Written by Huggo Marshall and Marvin are almost at the Farhampton Inn, they who get a ride for the final stretch from an unexpected source, the driver who seems to know just a little too much about Marshall's life without he knowing who she is. Meanwhile, someone associated with the wedding that neither Robin or Lily seems to know approaches them. As they try to figure out who he is, he ends up working his charm on them, before something he says ends up driving them apart, perhaps forever. That same person does exactly the same thing later with Barney and Ted. Marshall's current chauffeur may be able to shed some light on who this person is, and why a "bass player wanted" ad is the final straw for her in wanting to get her revenge on him. And Ted and Barney discuss what Ted sees as Barney's overuse of the phrase "that's the dream". They have to decide what really is "the dream" for both of them. Written by Huggo Barney's biological father Jerry actually and surprisingly responds to Barney's letter - in person. Barney and Jerry have an evening out to get to know each other, but each has a slightly different telling of the events of the night and how each views whether they have a future as a family. When Barney's friends learn what actually happened that night, they feel that Barney needs to experience Jerry's life - which means meeting Jerry's current family - to come to terms with Jerry's life during Barney's growing up period versus Jerry's life now. Meanwhile, Barney blames his lack of knowing how to use tools to not having a father figure to show him how while he was growing up. The gang discuss the gaps in knowledge each of the others has, which each somewhat admit to when confronted. However, Marshall seems not to have any of these knowledge gaps... or so the others seem to imply. Written by Huggo
Their friend Max spotting Woody Allen at Gregor's restaurant downtown gets the gang discussing what constitutes a real New Yorker. They all feel that Robin isn't one, while she believes she knows the city better than the rest of them. That starts an impromptu race to Gregor's seven miles away, with Robin believing taking a taxi is the fastest, Lily the subway and Ted the bus. Barney has a special plan which involves a leisurely steak meal. And Marshall needs to run the seven miles, which he really doesn't understand why until later in the day. But each really needs to win this race to compensate for something happening in their respective life. As the five go through the process of trying to get to Gregor's, talk show host Maury Povich factors into the equation of being a New Yorker for all of them. Some complained that the last few seasons had built towards an end game that was discarded within the hour-long episode, while others defended it as true to both the initial concept of the show and to life itself. In the years succeeding its airing, it continued to be singled out as one of the worst television series finales, e.g., topping USA Today's list of "Worst Series Finales of All Time". MacLaren's, an Irish bar in the middle of New York City, in which some of the show is set, is loosely based on four favorite bars of Bays, Thomas, and others' from the Late Show staff. Others include: McGee's, a Midtown tavern near the Ed Sullivan Theater where the Late Show is taped; McHale's, a legendary Hell's Kitchen bar which closed in 2006; Chumley's, a since-closed historic Greenwich Village pub; and Fez, another closed bar on the Upper West Side. McGee's had a mural that Bays and Thomas both liked and wanted to incorporate into the show. The name for the bar is from Carter Bays' assistant, Carl MacLaren; the bartender in the show is also named Carl. Lily and Marshall have now officially moved to Long Island, which brings about many issues. For Lily and Marshall, they receive an unexpected and somewhat unwanted house guest: Mickey. Mickey, who grew up in that house, believes he is helping Lily and Marshall by pointing out what they can and cannot do with every aspect of the house. Lily/Marshall and Mickey come to a stalemate when they negotiate Mickey's living arrangement versus his help in fixing the broken fuse which has resulted in the house being in total darkness. At MacLaren's, Ted, Barney and Robin are lamenting the empty half a booth where Lily and Marshall generally sat, and which will now be emptier than usual. However, Barney comes to the realization that Lily was generally the boss of their group, and thus now he plans on taking over. That leads to an evening which has them finding unexpected surrogates for Lily and Marshall. And Robin and Kevin are still at the stage in their relationship where they want to prove to the other that they are up for doing almost anything, even if they're not. Written by Huggo
A question by Kevin about the origins of a "No Boogie-Boarding" sign outside MacLaren's makes the gang reminisce about Hurricane Irene, which hit New York in the summer of 2011 and was the impetus to the incident that prompted the sign to be erected. - Safety-conscious Ted wanted to leave the city before the approaching hurricane. While Barney, Lily, and Robin thought that Ted was overreacting, Marshall, who was between jobs and had just lost his medical insurance until his new job started in two weeks, was suffering from hypochondria and wanted to leave. But telephone calls from various parents, news of the strength of the hurricane as it got closer and closer to New York, and interpersonal relationships between the five at that time made them continually change their individual minds about whether to go or stay. Meanwhile, Barney is at the point of doing anything to get out of wearing the ducky tie and thinks he has a way to convince Marshall to let him off. As Marshall ponders Barney's deal, Kevin adds his therapist two cents. Written by Huggo The seventh season received mixed reviews. Alan Sepinwall gave the season a mixed review and criticized the flash-forwards throughout the season, saying that "the show is just much, much stronger when its stories dwell on matters of the present or the past, and where the writers don't have to act like magicians trying to keep the audience from figuring out how the trick works. And the finale affirmed that belief for me. The parts that had little or nothing to do with things to come were quite good; the parts that were all about the future made me roll my eyes and ask, for the umpteenth time, 'Really? This is where you're going with this?'" The series was loosely inspired by Thomas and Bays' friendship when they both lived in New York City. Among the 208 episodes, there were only four directors: Pamela Fryman (196 episodes), Rob Greenberg (7 episodes), Michael Shea (4 episodes), and Neil Patrick Harris (1 episode). Of late, Barney has been trying to pick up women as usual, and as usual things are initially going well with his scam pick-ups, but after he steps away for a few second he returns for the woman to give him a harsh slap across the face. He finds out what's going on when seen with Barney, Lily is approached by a woman telling her that Barney is a lying cheat that will say and do whatever just to get into her pants. As the woman Lily describes could be a number of the women that Barney has slept with through lies and deceit, Barney has to figure out who she is. To narrow the list down, Barney is inspired by Ted and Marshall's love of NCAA basketball and decides to have his own version of March Madness, with the top sixty-four prospects pairing off in individual matches - with the gang deciding which girl is the winner in each pairing - until the final girl is determined. But they are only able to narrow things down to the final four. As only Lily knows what the girl looks like, she accompanies Barney on the final quest. Lily has her own motives for helping Barney with this task. And Robin thinks she has a better plan for tracking down the mysterious woman, with herself in the starring role. Written by Huggo
In the series finale, it was revealed that after three years of marriage, Barney and Robin get divorced. Barney ends up fathering a child conceived through a one night stand. Marshall eventually becomes a judge, and he and Lily have three children. Ted's wife, Tracy, dies of illness in 2024, six years prior to Ted telling his children the full story of how they met. Upon finishing the story, at the urging of his kids, Ted decides to ask Robin out. Alluding to Pilot, the finale ends with Robin looking out her apartment window to see Ted on the street holding the Blue French Horn. Robin has been out of work for four months. Among her unopened fan mail from Metro News 1, she finds a notice of her work visa expiration in seven days unless she finds another job in her field. As she has not even come close to finding another job, she, feeling desperate, takes Barney up on his offer to prepare a video resume for her, despite his own video resume being meaningless and inane, it which includes him stating such made up words as "possimpible". Thinking the direction that Barney is going in with the video resume will yield nothing, Robin applies for anything. Meanwhile, Ted, Marshall and Lily argue about the meaningless items each sees in the others' resumes. And Marshall sustains a basketball slam dunking injury, which in common terms is called "dancer's hip". Marshall confesses to Lily how he really got the injury. Written by Huggo The continuing story Ted is telling his kids about how he met their mother picks up in 2020, when his gang of friends were largely the same as at Robin and Barney's wedding, except... Ted and their mother still have not made it to the altar, despite both of the kids already having been born, the delay due to timing issues and wedding priorities. Marshall finally receives that much wanted call telling him that he has been offered a judgeship. It's a few years after Robin and Barney's divorce, with Barney having returned to his carousing ways. A major event that occurred in carrying out the new plays in his playbook ended up having what would be the most profound change in his mentality. The "except" part concerns Robin, who is now largely out of their lives, despite the six of them vowing that they would be there for each other for all the big events. Ted looks back once again to his initial meeting with their mother and why it seemed like destiny to be with her, before he concludes the story with what he believes is its moral. His kids, however, believe there is another underlying reason why he told them the story, a reason he may not even fully realize yet. Written by Huggo During the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, How I Met Your Mother shut down production; when the strike ended, the show returned on March 17, 2008, with nine new episodes. The network announced a change in the timeslot to 8:30 pm ET/7:30 pm CT, flip-flopping from the summer schedule with The Big Bang Theory. CBS renewed the show for a fourth season on May 14, 2008, which premiered on September 22, 2008. How I Met Everyone Else. Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmarra. S9 E14 / Jan. 13, 2014 How I Met Your Mother
Ted begins his search for his perfect soul mate and meets an ambitious young reporter from Canada, Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), with whom he quickly falls in love. Robin, however, does not want to rush into a relationship and the two decide to be friends. Future Ted reveals that Robin is not the mother after referring to her as "Aunt Robin". Ted begins his job as a professor of architecture, standing in the middle of a classroom – although the mother was present, it turns out to be an economics class as he's in the wrong lecture hall. Barney and Robin have had a sexual relationship throughout the summer and Lily locks them in a room, forcing them to come to terms with their relationship. After a rough patch they decide to break up. Robin describes it instead as "two friends getting back together." Barney immediately goes back to his old ways, using the playbook to score with women. Throughout the season Barney and Robin show feelings of regret over their break-up. Ted meets Cindy again, and sees her with a woman which he presumes is her roommate, only to learn that she is actually Cindy's girlfriend. It is also revealed that Ted first meets his wife while acting as best man at a wedding (during which he is caught outside in the rain without an umbrella). Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily start trying for a baby. .. Mit diesem Video möchte ich kein Geld verdienen es dient nur der Unterhaltung und dient nicht kommerzieller Zwecke
Comedy. The year is 2030. Ted Mosby is relaying the story of how he met his wife to his daughter and son. The story starts in the year 2005, when then twenty-seven year old architect Ted was spurred on to want to get married after his best friends from his college days at Wesleyan, lawyer Marshall Eriksen.. Zoey has written an op-ed piece in the newspaper criticizing Ted by name, calling him and his friends fat cats. Offended by the piece, Ted feels he and his friends are definitely not fat cats, despite their all attending, courtesy of GNB, a black-tie fund-raiser at the Natural History Museum. There, Lily learns that Marshall has aspirations to be a fat cat, which she has to reconcile with her own feelings of what she wants from her husband. Barney and Robin go on a quest to touch as many "do not touch" objects they can in the museum. Along with a past trip by Barney to the museum, their quest has an unexpected consequence concerning Barney's life. And Ted meets one of the fund-raiser's primary benefactors, George Van Smoot - self-nicknamed "The Captain" - who happens to be Zoey's rich, older husband. The interaction between the Captain - who actually likes Ted - Zoey, and Ted leads to slightly altered positions in the Ted/Zoey fight, and not just over the Arcadian. Written by Huggo In his quest to get back together with Stella, Ted comes to the realization that he loves her, so asks her to marry him. She says yes. Later, Ted, after being questioned by Marshall, also comes to the realization that he knows very little about his bride-to-be. Ted, admitting this fact to her, starts to ask Stella a bunch of questions to find out more about her. One of the more important facts that he learns is that she's never seen Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), his favorite movie of all time. Stella liking or not liking the movie could be a marriage breaker, especially as Ted is egged on by equally Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) loving Marshall. Someone also in love is Barney: with Robin. Sensing that she knows something is going on, Barney confides in Lily. Lily gives him advice on how he can be her boyfriend (despite Barney denying that what he wants to be is anything called a boyfriend). Written by Huggo In the season finale Robin finds out about Barney's love for her, which she cautiously reciprocates. Ted decides he is done being an architect and finally decides to instead teach architecture classes. The finale ends with Ted preparing to teach his first class and Future Ted revealing that one of the women in the class is the mother.
Ted tells his children he met their mother through a story concerning her yellow umbrella. He finds the umbrella at a club and takes it home after attending a St. Patrick's Day party where his future wife was, although they did not meet. Ted attempts to woo Stella (Sarah Chalke), a dermatologist he sees to remove an embarrassing butterfly tattoo. This culminates in a memorable "two-minute date," which incorporates small talk, dinner, a movie, coffee, two cab rides, and a goodnight kiss, all within two minutes. Robin sleeps with Barney after he comforts her following a break-up with a past Canadian love; Ted is infuriated, and decides to stop being friends with Barney. Meanwhile, an unknown woman begins to sabotage Barney's attempts to hook up. His saboteur is revealed to be Abby (Britney Spears), Stella's receptionist, with a vendetta against him for not calling her after they had sex. مشاهدة How I Met Your Mother مترجم جميع المواسم والحلقات مترجمة عربي اون لاين جودة عاليه سيما فور اب هلال تيوب سيما كلوب سيما فور يو Tags.. The theme song is a portion of "Hey Beautiful" by The Solids, of which Bays and Thomas, the two co-creators of the show, are members. Episodes from the first season generally started with the opening credits. A cold opening (about 2 minutes of the episode airs, then the opening comes) has been used since season two. Viewers then occasionally see Ted's children on a couch and hear him talking to them, telling the story of how he met their mother. Alternatively, scenes from previous shows or shots of New York City with Ted narrating over the top are shown. Thomas has explicitly said that Future Ted is an unreliable narrator since he is trying to tell a story that happened over 20 years earlier, and therefore tends to recall events incorrectly. A scene directly relating to the identity of the mother, involving Ted's future children, was filmed near the beginning of season two for the show's eventual series finale. This was primarily done because the teenage actors portraying them will be adults by the time the final season is shot.
Ted dates a graduate student named Cindy (Rachel Bilson) and it is revealed her roommate is his future wife. Robin meets Don Frank (Benjamin Koldyke), her new co-anchor on her 4 AM TV show. Though she initially dislikes him, the two start dating and eventually she moves in with him. At the end of the season they break up when Don takes a job in Chicago — a job which Robin had previously turned down to stay in New York with Don. Robin moves back into Ted's apartment. Lily's father, Mickey (Chris Elliott), who was absent during her childhood, makes an appearance at Thanksgiving. Mickey and Lily are able to mend their relationship at the end of the meal, where Marshall uses his fourth slap on Barney. Ted discovered that Tony, who stole Stella away from Ted at the altar, wrote a movie on Ted and Stella's relationship. The movie, “The Wedding Bride,” portrays Tony as the hero and Ted as the villain. The movie becomes popular and Ted unexpectedly sees it while on a date with another girl. He is infuriated by how he is portrayed in the movie, and views the actual story as the complete opposite. Ted buys a house, which needs to be fixed up badly, but is later revealed to be the future home for him and his children. The fifth season received mostly positive reviews. Cindy McLennan of Television Without Pity gave the season a mixed review, and at the end of the season wrote: "I'm okay with any given season not being primarily focused on mother-meeting, but this season, the characters seemed to regress -- particularly Barney and Ted. Usually, when a season ends, I have to deal with a week or two weeks' worth of letdown. Right now, all I'm feeling is relief." In the season finale, Ted reveals to Barney that he and Robin have been broken up for some time due to their conflicting views on marriage. They didn't tell anyone in order to avoid taking attention away from Lily and Marshall's wedding. The season ends with Barney excited at the prospect of Ted and himself being single guys on the town again, and ends the season with the phrase "This is going to be legen- wait for it..." Ted and Marshall are facing job security issues. GNB has been laying off employees of late. To ensure that he is not one of those laid off, Barney feels that Marshall needs to find his "man" niche: something specific that distinguishes him as being a great guy to have around, regardless of job performance. After going through the endless possibilities, Marshall decides to be the "sports guy", the one in the office who runs the fantasy baseball league. This job ends up being more stressful than his real job. After his own layoff, Ted is still trying to get his own architectural firm - Mosbius Designs - off the ground, the company which he is operating out of his and Robin's apartment. Ted seems more concerned about the cosmetics of the company as opposed to finding clients. Robin thinks he's procrastinating on this new phase of his life. Ted and Robin's life changes when Ted hires an assistant named PJ, who ends up doing double duty as professional in Ted's office and paramour in Robin's home. PJ may also find his true man niche in life. Lily thinks that a guy she knows named George is perfect for Robin, but he's a single father (his son, Doug, is in Lily's class), which is usually a deal breaker for kid hating Robin. Robin decides to give George a try and she does fall for him, even strong enough in her feelings and confident enough to tell him that she has a problem with kids. But when Robin inadvertently meets Doug in a morning after situation, Robin ends up having a slightly different reaction to Doug, which brings up a situation Robin has never faced. Meanwhile, Ted and Barney make a bet on who can sleep with the next beautiful woman they see at MacLaren's, that woman whose name is Stacey.
